Australian Busy Work

So, Australia was fantastic! We saw so many cool things. It was absolutely beautiful. And the best part was that we missed a pretty brutal winter at home by the sound of it (though not enough for me). Though there wasn't much time in the beginning of the trip to accomplish much in the way of projects, we did have a two week road trip that allowed for a lot of piddling around with craft projects. Unfortunately, for me, I made no real progress. Most of the projects ended unhappily with no real product- at least not one I'd show in public.

The second half of the trip (the half where half of the family went home and Max and I stayed on for an extra month and a half) was quite fruitful! I do not do well without progress and, let me just tell you, I made up for some lost time.

Here's the run-down:
1. panda for Ethan
2. rabbit for Max
3. bear for Maggie
4. acorn hat for Max
5. felt wall hanging- (very time consuming)
6. Marie Antoinette doll
7. fairy doll
8. began a silk alpaca chocolate brown cardigan

Hair Barrettes, Pins and Ponies

This post includes more small fiber projects- hair barrettes, pony tail holders and pins. The felt pieces, for the most part, are upcycling (taking used items and
finding a new life for them- in this case old wool sweaters which have been felted and reused). The other items are crocheted. These are just small, fun extras that are easy for me to play around with when watching TV or wasting time waiting on the kids at various events and appointments. The blue flowers with red buttons are my favorite. They remind me of Snow White and I love Snow White!

Fiber Projects

I am finally making an effort to move items from one blog to another. This post includes a few fiber projects that have been made recently. The monkey and hat set were made for a baby gift. The little monkey is actually a rattle. And the bunny was also made for a baby gift but the purchaser decided to keep it for herself. I guess I've done my job when the gift is kept by the giver (and they order more)!

Unfortunately, I have not photographed many projects until this past year. So I will post what I have but there are sooo many other projects of which I have no record. It will take me a while to get caught up but at least I am in motion.
